Job Description VITS International is seeking a mechanic to assist in the process of building machines (mechanical assembly) to join our team. The ideal candidate should exhibit a mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical machine assembly work. If a candidate has knowledge of handling tools and has a good aptitude for learning, along with a good work ethic, we can train you. This position will be responsible for working in a team to assemble large industrial machines from start to finish. Duties Prepare work to be completed by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and all parts lists. Gather necessary parts, subassemblies, tools and materials Properly perform troubleshooting and rework, as required. Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications. Inspect and test mechanical operation of units and adjust as necessary to meet specifications and requirements Use a variety of hand and power tools, measuring instruments, gauges, etc. Operate overhead crane and forklift as required Maintain a clean and organized work area Keep all equipment clean and in working condition Work closely with supervisor and co-workers to ensure quality of product and deadlines are met Interpret directions and provide ongoing feedback on product issues Ensure company safety procedures Assist with other assignments in the manufacturing process as needed Job Requirements Must be proficient with the use of hand and power tools, measuring instruments, etc. Must be proficient with standard and/or metric system Must be able to read and decipher blueprints, hand-drawn sketches and verbal instructions; or willing to learn Must be able to recognize and calculate figures and amounts such as fractional size, decimal equivalents Excellent housekeeping skills Must have a strong attention to detail Must be capable of handling multiple priorities Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs unaccompanied Must be dependable, reliable and have a great attitude Must be able to work overtime as required Must be able to carry out specified work procedures and directions of supervisors or leads Must have good verbal and written communication skills, capable of reading and writing instructions Must be self-motivated Work independently in the absence of supervision Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Must completely follow shop related safety protocol, policies and procedures Willingness to travel is a plus Physical Requirements Requires working and/or standing for extended periods of time Requires kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, or twisting for extended periods of time. Requires pushing, pulling and reaching above shoulders Requires work in confined spaces, on slippery or uneven surfaces Requires exposure to heat, cold, noise, grease, fumes, chemicals, moving objects/vehicles Requires general well-being and impairment due to drugs or alcohol is a safety hazard
