Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer Richards Wilcox, Inc., established in 1880 in Aurora, Illinois has evolved from a local hardware manufacturer into a diversified company specializing in office storage, conveyor systems and specialty door hardware. Our journey reflects commitment to innovation and adaptability, ensuring its relevance in various industries for more than a century. Our Aurora Storage division is seeking a Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

• Design and engineer various office storage products and their related components to meet customer requirements.
• Create detailed drawings utilizing computed assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
• Develop written specifications for the various designed and engineered office storage products.
• Investigate alterations and modifications to various office storage products to reduce component costs, facilitate manufacturability, and improve system performance.
• Submit new and revised BOMs and Item Masters for new and modified component designs.
• Prepare instruction and maintenance manuals for various office storage products and their related components.
• Provide hands-on assistance as needed in the R&D Department with the construction and testing of existing various office storage products and prototypes.
• Provide technical support to field installers relating to the installation and operation of various office storage products and their associated components.
• Provide mobile system weight, loading, and other engineering related information to dealers, architects, and engineers as needed.
• Assist the Sales department in the development of pricing for special custom part requests relating to various office storage products.

Requirements:

• BSME from an accredited university.
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
