  • Design & Product Development Support for Fluid Systems Engineering Team Why this Role?
  • Opportunity to engage in all aspects of the IPSD-L Engineering business working with Design, Validation, Manufacturing, Test & Validation, & Supplier Management. Great opportunity for an experienced Design & Test Engineer looking to work the end to end value stream from concept to production. Typical Day or Week in the Role Typical task breakdown:
  • Work with a team of design engineers, & team leads to plan & execute engine component validation plans
  • Translate technical requirements into detailed plan test plans, instrumentation requirements, and complete execution of those plans.
  • Prepare and deliver technical project summaries and final test results
  • Prepares concept, design, development, and feasibility studies of complex engineering projects working with suppliers to develop design concepts.
  • Prepares development plans and is responsible for meeting scheduled dates.
  • Conducts technical evaluations of major systems on competitive products.
  • Coordinates product tests with prove design and prototype build up and test areas.
  • Evaluates, defines, and resolves design and manufacturing problems.
  • Uses technical expertise and product knowledge in the problem resolution process when interfacing with Test and Evaluation, Service, Plant personnel, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Keeps abreast of latest technological advancements and prepares design concepts and develops unique product design features.
Interaction with team:
  • In-Person Meetings, Informal/Ad-Hoc Office Interactions, Teams (Online Meetings (video & phone) Team Structure
  • 15 engineers US based, and 10 India based… Design engineers w/ 2 test engineers.
Work environment:
  • Office & Engine Lab Environment
  • Safety glasses and shoes.
  • 85% office / 15% lab
Candidate Requirements Education & Experience Required:
  • Years of experience: 8+ years
  • Degree requirement: Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural, Aerospace or related field w/ 8+ Years of Full-Time Professional Experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural, Aerospace or related field w/ 5+ Years of Full-Time Professional Experience
  • Do you accept internships as job experience: College Projects, Master's Thesis Projects & Internships Are Not Qualifiers for Full-Time Professional Experience & will be Immediately Dis-Qualified
  • Are there past or additional job titles or roles that would provide comparable background to this role: Top 3 Skills 1. Communication, 2. Accountability, 3. Technical Engineering Knowledge. Additional Technical Skills (Required)
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude & Ability to Develop Product Concepts
  • Demonstrated Leadership of Taking a Product from Design Concept to Production
  • Experience with engine combustion & emissions performance, engine calibration, & lab testing
  • Fully Proficient in CAD Design (Modelling & Detailing) w/ Creo, Pro/E
  • Simulation Led Design Experience (Ansys Toolkit, FEA, CFD, etc.) w/ Ability to Quickly Iterate Design Concepts Based on Analytical Results
  • Fully Proficient w/ Microsoft Office Suite of Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Project & Task Management w/ Ability to Define & Execute to Project Priority Soft Skills (Required)
  • Fully Accountable for Self & Tasks Assigned
  • Demonstrated as an Independent Worker / Independent Thinker
  • Outstanding Analytical, Organizational, Time Management & Communication (Written & Oral) Skills are absolute requirements.
  • Ability to Work in Team Environment, w/ Clear Communication of Technical Information & Development Progress to Team Lead is
