Mechanical Engineer - Vessel Commissioning

Description We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Engineer to support vessel construction and commissioning activities. This role is focused on field engineering and oversight, not design, and will play a key role in bridging engineering and production during the final phases of construction. Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site engineering oversight during vessel construction and commissioning
• Support and coordinate commissioning activities to ensure compliance with ABS and USCG requirements
• Review and verify engineering and design documentation for accuracy and constructability
• Act as a liaison between Engineering and Production teams to resolve technical issues
• Support development and implementation of practical engineering solutions to field issues
• Provide regular status updates to engineering leadership and management
• Split time daily between office work and onboard vessel activities at the yard Additional Skills & Qualifications
• 5-10 years of experience supporting vessel construction or shipbuilding programs
• Strong working knowledge of ABS and USCG regulations
• Experience in a field engineering, commissioning, or shipyard construction support role
• Ability to work hands-on in a shipyard and onboard active vessels
• Strong communication skills to interface across engineering, production, and management teams Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sturgeon Bay, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00
