Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will provide effective technical and troubleshooting abilities for the electrical section of standby power systems and will also be responsible for performing routine to complex skilled and technical work in the repair, maintenance and installation of generators and some other mechanical systems, including medical vacuum pump systems. The candidate has the ability in this position to set their own working hours and times as long as required minimum service work is accomplished.Please Note:
The ideal candidate must be willing to perform their assigned duties primarily in the Southwest and Southeast regions of Florida. This will require travel in a company-issued vehicle in accordance with the required preventive maintenance intervals and overall services needs in the aforementioned regions.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Troubleshoots and repairs alternating current electrical systems on generators, automatic transfer switches, generator controls and engine-related mechanical failures Run load bank tests on diesel generators Diagnose and repair any issues found during initial testing Perform voltage changes on generators in accordance to regulatory requirements Re-wire, adjust and install control panels and voltage regulators Will perform routine preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes and inspections as well as trouble-shooting and repairs on all generators and vacuum pump systems assigned to their territory. Oversee maintenance of inventory of spare parts and initiates procurement of replacement supplies and equipment as necessary; makes cost and material estimates; collects data for preventive maintenance system; maintains activity logs and completes work orders and reports as needed. Operates assigned service vehicle, multimeters, pressure testers, feeler gauges, power and hammer drills, pipe benders and welding tools. Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
A working knowledge and understanding of diesel engine and/or generator technology: Knowledge of diesel, gasoline, natural gas, propane-driven internal combustion engines. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on diesel, natural gas and propane gensets Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of experience working with commercial power generators and preferably with some time in the healthcare history. Electrical- Through knowledge of 12-24 VDC electrical systems and procedures, methods and techniques to design, install, repair and maintain generators, by-pass pumps, starters, pumps, valves, motors and gauges. Equipment Operation
- Thorough knowledge of the proper procedures for operating, inspecting and maintaining tools and related equipment as needed to construct and maintain properties and equipment. Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the operation of equipment and materials. Safety
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and safety regulations related to equipment operation, hazardous materials, traffic patterns and conditions, and other work related precautions.

Engine Repair- Ability to utilize a variety of shop tools and equipment to perform routine repair work of equipment. Time Management

- Ability to communicate ideas effectively, including the preparation of reports and logs. Ability to listen and understand directions, information and ideas presented verbally and in writing. Technical Knowledge
- Experienced with utilizing Microsoft Office Suite programs, (Office, Excel Outlook, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirement:
Associate's degree or equivalencyExperience Required:
Prefer at least 7 Years Experience Certification in generator technology, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) permit with Hazmat preferred.COMPENSATION
Competitive Based on Experience- compensation may convert to salary position on department expansion.
