  • Full-time, Contract Position Summary The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily mechanical construction operations for utility-scale solar projects.
This position supports EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) activities by supervising field crews, subcontractors, equipment operations, and installation activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules and specifications. The Mechanical Superintendent will work closely with project management, quality control personnel, safety teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to coordinate mechanical installation activities throughout all phases of construction. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily mechanical construction activities and field operations Coordinate subcontractors, labor crews, and equipment resources Monitor project schedules and support production targets Ensure mechanical installations comply with project drawings and specifications Oversee tracker installation, racking systems, pile activities, and related mechanical scopes Conduct daily field planning and crew coordination meetings Monitor productivity, manpower, and site progress Coordinate material deliveries and laydown activities with logistics personnel Identify and resolve field construction issues and conflicts Ensure compliance with project safety procedures and quality standards Maintain daily reports, progress tracking, and field documentation Participate in client meetings, inspections, and project walkthroughs
Qualifications Required:
Must be willing to travel 5+ years of construction supervision experience preferred Experience in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or industrial construction preferred Strong understanding of mechanical construction operations and scheduling Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and field activities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction reporting systems Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Preferred:
Experience with EPC solar construction projects Previous superintendent or foreman experience Knowledge of tracker systems and solar installation methods OSHA 30 Construction preferred Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to walk long distances across uneven terrain Ability to climb ladders and navigate active construction areas Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally Work Environment This position operates in an active solar construction environment and may require: Extended outdoor exposure Weekend or overtime work Travel between project areas Exposure to changing weather conditions and construction activity Compensation & Benefits Compensation will be based on experience, certifications, and project requirements.
