  • Full-time, Contract Position Summary The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities for utility-scale solar construction operations.
This position supports EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) activities by ensuring all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, client standards, engineering requirements, and applicable codes and regulations. The Quality Control Manager will work closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, engineering teams, and client representatives to maintain quality standards throughout all phases of construction. Key Responsibilities Implement and manage site-specific quality control procedures and documentation Conduct inspections of ongoing construction activities and completed work Verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, and client standards Coordinate quality inspections with subcontractors and field teams Maintain quality reporting, punch lists, and inspection records Identify non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions Support turnover and commissioning documentation processes Monitor installation quality for civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes Participate in client quality meetings and project audits Assist with material receiving inspections and tracking Ensure proper documentation of testing and inspection activities Communicate quality concerns and recommendations to project leadership
Qualifications Required:
Must be willing to travel 3+ years of quality control, construction management, or field inspection experience preferred Experience in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or industrial construction preferred Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work in active outdoor construction environments Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Preferred:
Experience with EPC solar construction projects QA/QC certifications or technical training preferred Knowledge of commissioning and turnover processes Experience with inspection reporting and punch list management Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to walk long distances across uneven terrain Ability to climb ladders and navigate active construction areas Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally Work Environment This position operates primarily in an active solar construction environment and may require: Extended outdoor exposure Weekend or overtime work Travel between project areas Exposure to changing weather conditions and construction activity Compensation & Benefits Compensation will be based on experience, certifications, and project requirements.
