Physician Practice Operations | Multi-Site Medical Group | Lewiston, ME | Full-Time Central Maine Healthcare , is seeking a Medical Group Administrator to provide strategic and operational leadership for its employed physician practices across the region. This role is ideal for an experienced medical group leader who thrives in a multi-site, multi-specialty environment and partners closely with physicians to drive operational performance, financial sustainability, and high-quality patient care. Why This Role Matters Serve as the senior administrative leader for employed physician practices within an integrated health system Partner directly with physicians to optimize operations, staffing, and professional revenue Lead practice managers across multiple locations and specialties Influence financial performance, compliance, and growth for a regionally vital healthcare organization Join a system serving 400,000 people across central, western, and Midcoastal Maine About Central Maine Healthcare Central Maine Healthcare (CMH) is a fully integrated healthcare delivery system providing comprehensive services through: Central Maine Medical Center (Lewiston) Bridgton Hospital Rumford Hospital Central Maine Medical Group (primary and specialty care practices) CMH also supports highly specialized regional services, including the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, a regional trauma program, LifeFlight of Maine's southern base, and the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center. The organization is deeply rooted in community care and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities Provide overall administrative leadership for employed physician practices within the medical group Directly supervise and support practice managers and office managers across multiple locations Ensure physician credentialing and participation with applicable managed care plans Oversee billing workflows and processes to optimize professional fee revenue Partner with accounting and finance teams to develop, analyze, and review practice-level financial reports Ensure appropriate staffing models to support efficient, high-performing practice operations Maintain compliance with regulatory and operational standards impacting physician practices
Ideal Candidate Background Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (required) 7-10 years of physician practice management experience Experience leading operations in a multi-physician, multi-location environment Proven supervisory experience managing practice managers Strong knowledge of physician billing systems and revenue cycle workflows Working knowledge of compliance requirements impacting medical group operations
Preferred:
