Job Description

Front Desk Medical Receptionist About Us Southside Pediatrics is a privately owned pediatric practice dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to infants, children, and adolescents. Position Summary We are seeking a warm, organized, and detail-oriented Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our growing pediatric team. This role is often the first point of contact for our families and is essential to creating a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, dependable, and able to manage a fast-paced front office while maintaining accuracy and excellent customer service. Responsibilities Greet patients and families with warmth and professionalism Protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations Handle protected health information (PHI) securely and appropriately Answer incoming calls and route messages appropriately Schedule well visits, sick visits, follow-ups, and telehealth appointments Check patients in and out efficiently Verify demographic and insurance information Collect copays, balances, and other payments Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record Process referrals, forms, and medical records requests Assist families with portal enrollment and use Manage incoming faxes and correspondence Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area Communicate effectively with providers and clinical staff Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Prior experience in a medical office preferred (pediatrics strongly preferred) Experience with NextGen Office is a plus Strong communication and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Letter of recommendation from current or previous employer Ability to multitask in a busy environment Comfortable working with children and families Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly What We're Looking For The right candidate: Treats every family with kindness and respect Communicates clearly and professionally Takes ownership of their work Works well as part of a team Maintains confidentiality and professionalism Is punctual and dependable Stays calm and positive during busy periods Opportunities for professional growth To Apply Please submit your resume in PDF format to scheduling@southside-peds.com and a brief note describing why you would be a great fit for Southside Pediatrics.
