Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist/Insurance Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional front desk support while managing insurance verification, billing, and documentation processes. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate medical record management, and efficient patient service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a caring healthcare environment while utilizing your expertise in medical administrative support and insurance procedures. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) system Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers Review and update patient medical records accurately within EMR system Collect and document patient information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality Manage front desk operations including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records Support clinic staff with administrative tasks such as intake processing, care plan documentation review, and office management duties Handle patient inquiries professionally while demonstrating excellent customer service skills Utilize computer skills to update health information management system Experience Prior experience working in a medical office is required Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes Experience verifying insurance benefits and processing claims for Medicare and other insurers Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry, multi-line phone handling, and document review Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Excellent organizational skills combined with a friendly demeanor to provide top-tier patient service Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through compassionate care and efficient administrative support.
