Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform blood collection procedures with precision and compassion, ensuring accurate specimen sampling for diagnostic testing. Your expertise in laboratory techniques and patient care will directly contribute to the quality of patient diagnoses and treatment plans. Responsibilities Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, adhering to proper aseptic methods. Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and handling. Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition to ensure comfort and safety during procedures. Maintain a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology to facilitate effective specimen collection. Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and maintaining a compassionate demeanor. Follow strict laboratory procedures and safety protocols to ensure specimen integrity and staff safety. Document all collection activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies and medical terminology standards. Requirements Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings. Strong knowledge of phlebotomy, venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen processing. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively using medical terminology. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, vital signs measurement, and aseptic technique is essential. Prior experience with laboratory techniques related to blood collection and specimen handling is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
