Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Records Specialist, where your attention to detail and passion for accurate documentation will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you will manage and maintain comprehensive medical records, ensuring all information is precise, confidential, and easily accessible. Your proactive approach will support clinical staff and administrative teams by streamlining record-keeping processes and safeguarding sensitive health information. Duties Organize, file, and retrieve patient medical records efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ensure all medical records comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards for confidentiality and accuracy. Update patient information promptly following appointments, treatments, or hospital stays to maintain current records. Review incoming documentation for completeness and accuracy before integrating into the EHR system. Assist healthcare providers with accessing patient histories and medical data during clinical workflows. Maintain meticulous logs of record requests, disclosures, and updates to ensure audit readiness. Support the transition to new EHR platforms by participating in training sessions and updating procedures accordingly. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms is essential. Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret and document clinical information. Proven ability to manage medical records with confidentiality, organization, and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals and patients when necessary.
