  • Full-time Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and hospitals. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to residents, particularly those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and other memory-related conditions. The Medication Technician will be responsible for administering medications, maintaining accurate medical documentation, and ensuring the well-being of our residents. Duties Administer medications to residents as prescribed and monitor their responses. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with daily living activities and provide compassionate care to residents. Monitor vital signs and report any changes in residents' health status to the nursing staff. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents, adhering to infection control protocols. Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documenting patient care and medication administration. Provide support in tube feeding and catheter care when necessary. Engage with residents in meaningful activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being. Requirements Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs is essential. Familiarity with medication administration processes and related documentation practices. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs is highly desirable. Strong understanding of caregiving principles, including hospice and dementia care. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for patient documentation. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating strong interpersonal skills with residents and families.
