POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The YMCA Membership and Programs Business Analyst plays a crucial role in enhancing member experience, supporting the organization's growth, and supporting membership and program goals by effectively analyzing and reporting data, processes, and systems. The Membership and Programs Business Analyst collaborates with stakeholders across departments to identify opportunities for improvement, develop data-driven decisions and solutions, and ensure that technology and processes contribute to member satisfaction and engagement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collaborate with YMCA staff and cross-functional partners to translate business needs into clear technical and operational requirements, ensuring alignment with YMCA mission, equity goals, and member experience standards. Create and maintain recurring and ad-hoc reports in Microsoft Excel, including data extraction, validation, transformation, and analysis from multiple data sources. Document, analyze, and refine business processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce barriers to access, and enhance a consistent, high-quality member experience across YMCA programs and services. Identify and prioritize opportunities for continuous improvement by evaluating current practices, benchmarking industry standards, and leveraging emerging technologies to drive innovation, scalability, and member engagement. Partner with IT and key stakeholders to implement system and process improvements, ensuring solutions meet business requirements, maintain data security, and comply with applicable privacy regulations and YMCA policies. Analyze membership and program data to identify trends and insights that support equitable member acquisition, engagement, and retention across YMCA facilities and communities served. Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track key membership and program metrics (e.g., joins, cancellations, renewals, active units), supporting data-informed decision-making and responsible stewardship of resources. Manage and support processes related to senior third-party membership programs, including eligibility verification, data reconciliation, and reporting. Partner with Membership and Finance to ensure accurate billing, timely reimbursement, compliance with third-party requirements, and a seamless experience for participating members. Support adoption of systems and processes by developing documentation and training materials, leading training sessions, and assisting with change management efforts to ensure staff confidence and successful implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field May be substituted with an associate's degree and at least two years of related work experience May be substituted with at least 4 years of related work experience At least three years of related experience in data analysis, database management, and data reporting. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data extraction, validation, transformation, analysis, and creation of recurring and ad-hoc reports. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including GA4 and Microsoft Office Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving, and systems analysis skills Experience with business process modeling, documentation tools, and knowledge of project management methodologies preferred but not required Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable insights that support member experience, operational efficiency, and organizational goals. Ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders, adapt, and continuously learn Completion of YMCA required trainings upon hire Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
