Job Overview:

The Mental Health Screener responds to the emotional needs of those requesting assistance through screening, assessment, crisis intervention, referral and outreach.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, nursing or related clinical field required With 3 years of full time work experience in a mental health setting OR Master's degree in social work, psychology, nursing or related clinical field required With 1 year of experience in a mental health setting

Preferred:

Experience within

Crisis Intervention and Emergency Services Certifications and Licenses Required:

Certified Jersey Mental Health Screener or immediately eligible with six months of hire required

Scheduling Requirements:

Full-Time, Night Shift (36 hours per week)

Essential Functions:

Facilitates voluntary/involuntary hospitalization of clients in accordance with the Emergency Services policies and procedures Fully documents all client contacts and submits in a timely manner Provides and completes all documentation records and forms as stipulated in the Emergency Services Department policies and procedures Provides crisis intervention, information, and referral services on the telephone, in the Emergency Room and throughout the community Brings all unusual situation, incidents or difficulties encountered to the provision of emergency services to the attention of the Director or his/her designate Performs all other duties as assigned
