Next Gen Trucking Association is looking for a friendly, dependable contract worker to assist our team for three days at the FFA Annual Convention at the Indianapolis Convention Center.

Wednesday, October 21: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Thursday, October 22: 7:30 AM–4:30 PM

Friday, October 23: 7:30 AM–2:30 PM

The primary responsibility of this position will be helping students use two virtual reality (VR) headsets in the Next Gen Trucking booth. The VR experiences introduce students to careers in diesel technology through hands-on simulations, such as changing the oil or changing a tire on a truck.

Responsibilities

Help students get started with the VR headsets and career exploration activities

Guide students through the VR experience and assist with basic headset operation

Keep the VR area organized and moving efficiently as students come through the booth

Engage with high school students in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner

Interact with Next Gen Trucking staff, volunteers, and trucking industry professionals participating in the booth

Help create a positive and engaging experience for students learning about careers in trucking and diesel technology

We are looking for someone who is:

Comfortable working with teenagers and interacting with the public

Friendly, outgoing, patient, and dependable

Comfortable learning and assisting with basic VR technology

Able to be on their feet throughout much of the day

Available for all three days and scheduled hours

No trucking, diesel technology, or VR experience is required. We will provide instructions on how to operate the VR experiences.

Transportation & Parking

The contractor will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the Indianapolis Convention Center and for parking downtown.

This is a short-term, three-day contract opportunity and a great fit for someone who enjoys working with students, technology, career exploration, and live events.
