Job Description
Position Summary The Production Operator is responsible for executing day-to-day manufacturing activities within Zakobe's production processes, ensuring output meets all documented customer requirements, quality standards, and production schedules. This role operates within a controlled system where production, quality, and process adherence are mandatory and enforced. Production processes are defined as the core value-generating activities of the company, including stamping, tool and die operations, EDM, and heat treat. Core Responsibilities Execute production activities in accordance with job folders (BOB), setup instructions, and documented process requirements Perform equipment setup verification and ensure correct: Die set selection Material grade/specification Lubrication and process inputs Operate stamping presses and associated equipment per defined setup instructions and training Conduct in-process inspections and final inspections to verify product conformance Accurately complete production records and inspection documentation within job folders Maintain production flow aligned with the production schedule and delivery requirements Identify and document non-conforming material; initiate containment actions immediately Production personnel are required to follow documented process control methods and record all relevant production and inspection data within the job folder system. Quality & Compliance Requirements Ensure all parts meet customer specifications as defined in prints and purchase orders Stop production when non-conformance is identified until root cause is addressed and corrected Segregate and properly identify non-conforming material in designated bins Participate in corrective action processes including rework, scrap, or escalation Production is stopped until the cause of nonconformity is identified and corrected, and all non-conforming material must be controlled and documented. Equipment & Process Interaction Operate stamping presses ranging from 5 ton to 60 ton capacity Work with materials including nickel alloys, steel, stainless steel, copper alloys, and aluminum within standard thickness ranges Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and vision inspection systems Zakobe operates multiple stamping presses and maintains defined material and process capabilities that production personnel must adhere to without deviation. Training & Competency Expectations Complete structured training under an approved trainer Demonstrate competence in: Quality checks Production efficiency Scrap reduction Understanding of job documentation (BOB folders) Work independently only after trainer certification Employee competence is monitored through production performance, quality results, and understanding of documented processes before independent operation is authorized. Work Environment & Expectations Operate in a controlled manufacturing environment focused on quality and consistency Follow defined maintenance, safety, and operational procedures Maintain disciplined execution—passive behavior, delays, or deviation from process are not acceptable Production processes are the core of Zakobe's business and must be executed with strict adherence to documented controls and standards. Position Level Definition (Mid-Level) A mid-level operator is expected to: Run jobs independently after certification Perform setup verification without supervision Identify and react to quality issues without escalation delays Maintain consistent output aligned with production and quality targets Non-Negotiable Standards All work must follow documented procedures and job-specific instructions Quality requirements override production speed Deviations from process require immediate correction or escalation
