Rate of Pay:
$115,084•133,531
DOE Insurance:
Generous Health, dental, and vision contribution from the district, currently up to $2,179 (based upon family coverage), TBD for 2025-2026.
PERS Retirement:
The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.
Retiree Benefits:
An administrator who retires from KFCS and from PERS, with at least ten consecutive years of experience as an administrator in the district immediately prior to retirement, will receive the following retirement benefits: One percent (1%) of the administrator's final base salary per month for a total of eight-four (84) months. AND Medical insurance premiums for the administrator and spouse (if necessary) for a total of eighty four (84) months. When an administrator retires, the District shall contribute up to the employee only cap or the employee-spouse cap. Should the district contribution be insufficient to pay for the monthly cost of the insurance, then the parties agree that the excess insurance premium contribution will be made by the retiree. Current Agreement•KFSA Agreement 2025-2029 Position Purpose Klamath Falls City Schools is seeking a highly collaborative, student-centered instructional leader to serve as an Middle School Assistant Principal•Instructional Leadership & Coaching at Ponderosa Middle School. This position is specifically designed to support high-quality classroom instruction through intensive, job-embedded professional learning, instructional coaching, and systems that improve outcomes for students with the greatest academic and behavioral needs. This role differs from a traditional assistant principal position in that the majority of the workday will be dedicated to: supporting instructional practice in classrooms, coaching teachers through real-time feedback and modeling, strengthening schoolwide instructional systems, and ensuring consistent implementation of high-quality teaching practices. The Assistant Principal will work closely with the building principal and instructional staff to create classrooms where students experience engaging, structured, and supportive learning environments every day. Funding Structure & Primary Responsibilities This position is partially funded through Federal Funds and is specifically aligned to activities that support school improvement and increased student achievement. Title-Funded Responsibilities (Student Contact Day) During the student contact day, responsibilities will primarily include: Job-embedded instructional coaching and professional learning Classroom walkthroughs focused on instructional improvement In-the-moment teacher feedback and support Modeling instructional practices and student engagement strategies Supporting implementation of schoolwide instructional systems Facilitating teacher collaboration focused on student learning Supporting systems for intervention, reteach, and student academic progress monitoring Non-Federal Funded Responsibilities (Outside Student Contact Day) Responsibilities completed outside the student contact day may include: Operational and supervisory responsibilities Student discipline and family meetings Staff supervision and evaluation activities Scheduling and organizational duties School event supervision Compliance-related administrative tasks Qualifications Hold or qualify for a valid Oregon Administrative License Successful teaching experience at the middle school level preferred Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices and professional learning systems Experience supporting teachers through coaching, modeling, and feedback preferred Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed educational practices Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Responsibility of employee to obtain and maintain all required trainings, certifications, and licensure Must have regular and reliable attendance and the ability to perform all essential duties of the position Performance Responsibilities Instructional Leadership & Coaching Conduct frequent classroom walkthroughs focused on instructional improvement and student engagement Provide in-the-moment coaching, feedback, and instructional support to teachers Support implementation of structured instructional practices and lesson delivery systems Facilitate professional learning aligned to school instructional priorities Support teacher teams in analyzing student learning data and planning responsive instruction Model instructional strategies and engagement techniques in classrooms Assist in developing systems that ensure all students experience consistent, high-quality instruction Student Learning & Support Systems Support schoolwide systems for intervention, reteach, and student academic support Assist with implementation of positive behavior systems and student support structures Support systems that maximize instructional time and minimize classroom disruptions Collaborate with staff to create safe, structured, and supportive classroom environments Support inclusive practices for students receiving specialized services School Leadership Assist the principal in implementing school improvement initiatives Support communication and collaboration with families and community partners Participate in staff supervision and evaluation processes Assist with school operations and organizational systems as assigned Support implementation of district instructional priorities and initiatives Professional Culture Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and reflective practice Build strong relationships with staff through coaching, support, and shared problem-solving Maintain a visible and active presence throughout classrooms and the school community Klamath Falls City Schools Commitment Klamath Falls City Schools is committed to creating learning environments where all students experience high expectations, meaningful support, and engaging instruction every day.
