Mill Operator

Job Title:

Mill Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Mill Operator who consistently projects a positive attitude towards both customers and colleagues. The role involves packaging products in accordance with production schedules and sequencing requirements, disposing of spill, partial bag, and flush material according to guidelines, and weighing, loading, and unloading trucks and customer vehicles. The Mill Operator will also carry out housekeeping duties, follow supervisor and management directions, notify supervisors of manufacturing issues, inspect equipment before loading, complete paperwork accurately and promptly, and adhere to biosecurity and BSE rules. Responsibilities Project a positive attitude towards customers and employees at all times. Package products according to production schedules and sequencing requirements. Dispose of spill, partial bag, and flush material following rework and flushing guidelines. Weigh, load, and unload trucks and customer vehicles. Perform housekeeping duties, including tasks that require climbing to the top of the mill. Follow directions from supervisors and management. Notify supervisor of any manufacturing problems. Inspect equipment before loading. Complete required paperwork accurately and on time. Follow biosecurity and BSE rules. Essential Skills Attention to detail. Proficiency in basic math and writing skills for measurements and calculations. Preventive maintenance. Troubleshooting. Maintenance technician skills. Electrical and mechanical skills. Production and repair knowledge. Forklift experience (preferred). Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not required. Previous forklift experience is preferred. 6 months of manufacturing or farming experience. Former feed mill experience is a plus. Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights. Work Environment The role operates in an open warehouse environment, which carries the smell of animal feed. The temperature varies with colder conditions in winter and warmer conditions in summer, especially around shipping bay doors. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jackson, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
