Job Description

SIGN ON BONUS - ATTENDANCE BONUS - VOLUNTARY OVER TIME

Do you enjoy working with cutting edge technology and automation? If any of these apply to you, we have an opening for a Mold Maintenance Technician that might be right up your alley.
SUMMARY:
Disassemble, clean and inspect molds. Perform insert changes and re-assemble molds. Verify molds are capable of producing parts that meet customer requirements efficiently and seek to improve overall mold maintenance activities that promote productivity, quality and safety. Assist the Lead Mold Technician, Mold Maintenance II, and/or Mold Maintenance Supervisor when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following; other duties may be assigned.
  • Disassemble mold and clean components
  • Inspect all parts of mold for signs of wear or damage and notify the Lead Mold Maintenance Tech or the Mold Maintenance Supervisor so the mold can be repaired.
  • Change inserts as required.
  • Tag "Production Ready" and transport molds to workstations with use of motorized pallet jack
  • Perform daily tool maintenance (in and out of presses)
  • Update mold location records in ERP system
  • Clean inserts as required. Return inserts to assigned storage location.
  • Collect molds after production runs and return mold to storage and update mold location records
  • Install replacement parts and perform minor mold repair per direction of mold maintenance supervisor.
  • Assemble mold, verify the work has been completed, and return the mold to the proper location and update tool log book
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following company safety procedures and complying with legal regulations as defined by OSHA.
  • Maintain and practice good housekeeping procedures within the department. Food Safety
  • All employees are required to understand and follow all Quality Food Safety Management System (QFSMS) policies and procedures.
In addition, employees are responsible for reporting problems with the QFSMS to a supervisor or manager.

EXPERIENCE
: Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent. Three to five years of related experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
LICENSES
: Ability to obtain and maintain lift licenses for required mold maintenance equipment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Candidate must have demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions; must have the ability to communicate effectively both in verbal and written forms with direct reports, internal customers/coworkers and external vendors and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. The ability to identify problems, and when directed collect data, establish facts, and recommend solutions is essential to this position. OTHER SKILLS and
ABILITIES
Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and supply high quality work. Ability to identify and operate (in a safe manner) various powered hand tools and maintain lift licenses. Basic computer skills are necessary to enter data into computer programs used to track mold maintenance activities. The ability to prioritize activities and perform job duties with minimal supervision is essential to this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must frequently walk, stand, lift and carry 35 lbs. up to 10 feet, and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds several feet (e.g. molds without eye bolts). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to climb in and out of presses, balance and be able to work inside the mold.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud. The noise level on the production floor is loud. The following personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to be worn at all times when performing in this role while on the manufacturing floor: safety glasses and hearing protection. Food Safety protective equipment is required at all time while on the manufacturing floor: including hair nets, gloves and, if applicable, beard nets. Benefits Competitive full benefits package.
