The Advocate Coordinator is responsible for training, mentoring and retaining current volunteer advocates to ensure that the children involved with the program receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning. The Advocate Coordinator is hired by the Executive Director who is responsible for his/her performance evaluations.

Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must demonstrate strong skills in interpersonal relationships, public speaking, organization, event coordination, volunteer engagement, fundraising, and small-group facilitation. An understanding of volunteer management, child abuse and neglect, families in crisis, advocacy work, donor stewardship, and other social services is preferred. Must complete the CASA guardian ad litem volunteer training course within six months of employment. Must be computer literate and able to learn relevant databases, donor management systems, and communication platforms. A background check will be conducted. This position includes a six-month probationary period.
DUTIES:
Some duties will be performed collaboratively with the Executive Director and other program staff. Volunteer Supervision Oversee designated volunteers and maintain a minimum of monthly contact with each volunteer. Provide supervision, assistance, consultation, and ongoing support to volunteers as needed. Maintain accurate volunteer, case, and training records. Work collaboratively with staff to retain trained and experienced volunteers. Identify volunteer support needs and connect volunteers with appropriate training, resources, and guidance. Communicate regularly with volunteers regarding program updates, training opportunities, expectations, and recognition activities. Case Management Review cases and assist with assigning volunteers. Initiate court orders for the assignment of a guardian ad litem to a case. Review and approve volunteer court reports before they are filed with the Court. Attend court hearings as necessary. Maintain accurate volunteer and case files. Maintain the confidentiality of cases. Consult with and advise the Executive Director regarding volunteer or case-related issues and concerns. Volunteer Recruitment and Training Assist with developing and implementing strategies to recruit qualified CASA volunteers. Represent the organization at community events, presentations, recruitment activities, and informational meetings. Respond to prospective volunteer inquiries and assist applicants throughout the screening, interview, and onboarding process. Plan and coordinate Pre-Service Advocate Training for new volunteers. Coordinate ongoing in-service and continuing education opportunities for guardians ad litem. Monitor volunteer training requirements and follow up with volunteers regarding incomplete requirements. Maintain accurate training attendance and completion records. Schedule and attend the swearing-in of new volunteers. Support newly sworn-in volunteers as they transition from training into active case advocacy. Donor Development and Stewardship Assist the Executive Director with implementing donor development, engagement, and stewardship strategies. Help identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with individual donors, businesses, community partners, and prospective supporters. Maintain accurate and confidential donor records in Donorbox and other donor management systems. Ensure donations are properly recorded, acknowledged, and tracked. Prepare and send timely donation acknowledgments, thank-you letters, impact updates, and other donor communications. Assist with planning and implementing fundraising campaigns, giving opportunities, and special events. Develop donor-focused content for newsletters, social media, email campaigns, direct mail, and the organization's website. Help communicate the impact of donor support through appropriate stories, program outcomes, and organizational data while maintaining confidentiality. Support donor retention efforts through consistent communication, appreciation, and relationship-building. Assist with monitoring fundraising campaign progress and preparing donor and campaign reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Help identify and implement additional Donorbox features that strengthen donor engagement, recurring giving, campaign tracking, and stewardship. Maintain the confidentiality of donor information and follow organizational policies and applicable fundraising standards. Program and Community Activities Assist with volunteer and donor recognition and appreciation activities. Build relationships with community organizations, businesses, and other partners that may support volunteer recruitment or donor development. Assist with organizational outreach, marketing, and public awareness activities. Provide office coverage as needed. Participate in staff meetings, community events, and organizational planning activities. Some out-of-town, evening, and weekend work is required.
