As well as Exeter, this role is easily accessible from Exmouth, Exminster, Sidmouth, Seaton, Honiton, Cullompton, Tiverton, Crediton, Taunton, Axminster, Chard, Torquay, Teignmouth, Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot and surrounding areas.

Role ResponsibilityReporting directly tothePlant Supervisor the duties of the Multi Skilled Operative will include the day-to-day operations of either fixed or mobile plant. The asphalt plant operator will work with an internal team to plan the mixing program, they will ensure that stocks are maintained and replenished in good time.

Your role as a Multi Skilled Operative will include:

Mixing asphalt to specificationWorking with other members of the team to ensure that customers getgood qualitymaterial and on-timedeliveriesWeighbridge dutiesLoading shovel (mobile Plant)Assistingthe Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targetsEnsuringPlantconforms with safety requirements at alltimesHealth, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilitiesFollowing Health, Safety and Environmental policies and proceduresInspections on the Plant and acting on defects and implement remedialactionAssistingin the maintenance regime of the PlantEnsuring that Plant availability ismaximisedWorking to keep housekeeping around site to a highstandardThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Multi Skilled Operativewill be able todemonstrateproven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as an operative or labourer. As well aspossessinggood communicationskills and have a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills.

To succeed in this role we would expect a candidate to evidence:

Knowledge of Plantand ideallypossesspreviousexperience in mobile PlantoperationsShovel Licence

• desirableBe flexible and able to work as part of an effective Multi-Skilled OperativeteamBeself motivatedand able to motivate other colleagues in theteamGood timekeeping
• flexible as to the Units requirements Good communicationskills
• bringing problems to the attention of Line ManagementFull UK Driving LicenceIT LiteratePreviousexperience asa Multi Skilled Operative working in an Asphalt Plant would prove highlybeneficial howeverthis is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.
