Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The navigator position supports DHS involved families, navigating a range of challenges, to work toward self-sufficiency. The position is deeply connected with families involved with the child welfare system. Through intensive case management and family support, the goal is to provide services to help stabilize families as they move toward self-sufficiency and raise safe and healthy children. The Family Nurturing Center Programs strengthen families through the development of Protective Factors, which reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect and support effective parenting in at-risk populations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting families as they navigate DHS Child Welfare System Reporting safety threats Maintaining compliance with FNS/DHS contract Fostering relationships with community resources
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma Minimum 2 years' experience working with high-risk families (within past 5 years) Current clearance in DHS and Childcare licensing background check registry Current Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (within 30 days of employment) Current First Aid/CPR Card (within 30 days of employment)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to effectively handle crisis situations Ability to lift up to 40 pounds Sitting, standing, walking, driving Normal memory, taking into consideration the amount and type of information Vision and hearing within normal range (with or without corrections)
HAZARDS:
May come into contact with children who are ill and/or contagious Entering potentially unsafe, unstable, or unsanitary living conditions Driving in potentially hazardous weather or road condition

$18.93 - $20.89 per hour
