Cumberland County, NC - 3.8 Hope Mills, NC Job Details Full-time $41,704.33 a year 20 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Retirement plan Qualifications Driver's License Clerical experience Full Job Description Position Overview The primary purpose of the position is to provide clerical support in implementing WIC Program services. Examples of Duties Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Review eligibility criteria, residence, category, income and medical/nutritional risk Explain program purpose, rules, income guidelines and need for medical eligibility to participants Issue e-WIC Food Benefits Card and explain to clients how to activate and use the card at the local WIC approved vendors Offer and provide assistance with the Voter Registration Application This position may need to travel to different site locations as needed to meet daily staffing needs. Employee is subject to be called upon anytime to help the agency respond to a public health emergency which may include, but is not limited to, outbreak investigations, staffing mass dispensing or immunization clinics, providing disaster relief, or other incidents (man-made or natural and intentional or non-intentional) as they arise, or any public health response requested by the Health Director. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Proficient in the use of computers and data entry Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited universities. Applicants who have obtained their education outside of the U.S. and its territories must have their academic degrees validated as equivalent to the degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S. The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) is a referral resource for applicants who need to have their credentials certified as equivalent. If selected for the position, a formal transcript will be required within 30 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Significant knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods and practices. Significant knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and office terminology to compose and/or proofread correspondence, reports and other materials. Significant knowledge of accounting procedures, mathematics and their application in the work environment. Ability to learn and independently apply laws and departmental rules and regulations covering programs and services. Ability to review and process information to determine conclusions, actions or compliance with applicable laws, rules or regulations. Ability to apply a variety of work-related formulas or mathematical calculations. Ability to record, compile, summarize and perform basic analysis of data. Ability to independently work with people with courtesy and tact in performing public contact duties that may be sensitive in nature. May require ability to supervise and coordinate the work of other staff, student workers or volunteers. Must have or obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Background check and negative drug test are required.
