Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated NCPreK Teacher Assistant to support early childhood education in a nurturing classroom environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with lead teachers to implement curriculum, foster positive behaviors, and promote the social, emotional, and academic development of young children. This role is vital in creating an engaging and inclusive learning space for preschool-aged students, including those with special needs or disabilities. Experience in early childhood education, classroom management, and working with children with autism or other developmental differences is highly valued. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate lessons aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math, and other foundational skills. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies. Provide individualized attention to children, including toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being. Help facilitate activities that promote social skills, early childhood development, and inclusive learning for children with disabilities or special needs. Assist with classroom organization, including setting up learning materials and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Support children during routines such as snack time, bathroom breaks, and nap time. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative educational environment. Contribute to curriculum development efforts and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse student needs. Skills Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings. Knowledge of special education strategies, including working with children with autism or disabilities. Proficiency in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Ability to assist in lesson planning across various subjects such as literacy education and math. Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members. Experience working with diverse populations, including children with special needs or behavioral challenges. Familiarity with Montessori or other specialized preschool curricula is a plus. Compassionate approach to childcare and early childhood education that fosters a positive learning environment.
