Full Job Description Job Summary:
The NDT Tech's role is to perform verification of in-process shop fabrication dimensions based on shop drawings and specifications. Also perform NDT procedures to include MT, UT, and RT testing as applicable.
Essential Functions:
Verifies conformance of product to shop drawings and contract requirements through: Dimensional checks with a tape measure to drawings Visual inspection of welds, NDT testing to include MT, RT, and UT as applicable Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of Inspection Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results Where to find and how to use the "parts-of-line" information Safe working load of the hoist line
Additional Duties:
Additional responsibilities or duties may be required as needed in support of company operations Quality Standards Must be able to read and understand codes, and specifications. Will ensure all inspections comply with applicable standards and specifications. Teamwork Teamwork is essential in this position and the NDT Technician must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all departments, managers, and staff. Actively participate in Safety meetings and promote company safety culture while working closely with the safety department. Qualifications An individual must be able to perform each essential duty above average and always represent the company in a professional manner. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Level II MT, RT, and UT (min. of two certifications required) Education and/or Experience High School Diploma Language Skills Must be able to communicate in a professional manner and show respect both orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments, and managers.
