NICU Registered Nurse in Lakewood, OH

Category Nursing - RN-NICU Job Type Contract Deliver excellent, compassionate care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit supporting newborns and their families. Schedule/Hours:

D/N rotating shifts or straight night shifts (19:30 - 08:00) Every other holiday coverage required Six weekend shifts within each six-week scheduling block Assignments may be available in 2- or 6-week rotations

Qualifications and Experience:

Active RN license in good standing Minimum of one year recent experience in a Level III or higher NICU setting preferred Current BLS and NRP certifications required Strong knowledge of neonatal pathophysiology, ventilator management, and family-centered care Exceptional critical thinking, clinical judgment, and communication skills Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced settings Comfortable wearing navy blue scrubs per facility dress code

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care to critically ill neonates, including assessment, medication administration, and documentation Collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals Support and educate families through all stages of their infant's NICU stay Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and family conferences Assist with admissions, discharges, and intra-facility transfers Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and best-practice standards Thrive in a supportive environment that values clinical skill, teamwork, and compassionate patient care.
