Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Shift Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care during overnight hours. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various clinical settings, including acute and chronic care, with proficiency in medical documentation, patient assessment, and specialized nursing procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, supporting diverse patient populations with compassion and professionalism. Candidates with experience in critical care, long-term care, hospice, or emergency medicine are highly encouraged to apply. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth. Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA regulations and established protocols. Manage catheterization, and sterile procedures with aseptic technique. Monitor patients' physiological status through telemetry and other diagnostic evaluations; respond promptly to emergent situations such as acute pain episodes or airway compromise. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records, ensuring compliance with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care coordination. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care and behavioral health support. Assist with specimen collection/processing and laboratory testing as needed. Educate patients and families on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication management, and chronic disease management. Maintain infection control standards and ensure adherence to NCQA standards for quality patient care. Qualifications Valid LPN or RN license in the state of practice. Experience working in diverse clinical environments such as ICU, emergency room, hospital medicine, hospice care, or long-term care facilities. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Skills in medication administration (including IV insertion), phlebotomy, venipuncture, suturing, and tube feeding. Ability to perform physical examinations and assessments accurately; experience with ventilator management or neonatal ventilators is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills for working with patients of all ages—including pediatrics like infants and toddlers—and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
