Position Summary Operations Officers are a vital part of our campus life, supporting a safe, secure, and highly efficient learning environment. In this full-time role, you serve as a highly visible, personable professional ambassador and a logistical "utility player". You balance front-of-house hospitality, greeting visitors with warmth and managing building access, with behind-the-scenes operational and safety coordination. Reporting directly to the Reception and Operations Supervisor - Basking Ridge, you ensure consistent coverage, a professional desk presence, and strict alignment with campus protocols. You will work collaboratively with Facilities, Athletics, and Auxiliary programs to seamlessly execute daily campus activities, school events, and afternoon/evening transitions. This is a 12-month, full-time position, primarily based at Pingry's Basking Ridge campus. This role is scheduled to work Tuesday through Saturday, 7:30am - 4:00pm. Depending on the school calendar and operational requirements, duties and schedules may occasionally change, however candidates with availability Tuesdays through Saturdays are strongly preferred. We are seeking a proactive, composed, and customer-service-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. This role is perfect for someone who balances a "security-first" mindset with a "service-first" approach. You will excel in this role if: You have a naturally warm, professional, and welcoming demeanor. As a primary campus representative, you pride yourself on ensuring all students, employees, and families feel welcome while maintaining firm access control and screening protocols. You balance working autonomously with being an integrated team player. You smoothly shift gears from monitoring the reception area to helping set up an event, handling package deliveries, or coordinating logistics with external vendors. You handle high-visibility multitasking, busy lobbies, and operational challenges with a composed mindset and sound judgment. You possess the strong interpersonal skills necessary to facilitate difficult conversations professionally when issues arise. You notice the small details, from risk assessment during routine security rounds to tracking event calendars. You bring a high level of discretion and strong attention to detail when managing campus safety or assisting with operational documentation. You are comfortable working with digital visitor management systems and security platforms. You easily leverage Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets) to handle phone, email, and tracking inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate information-sharing across departments.
