Supervising Mental Health Specialist (Night)

Job Description

Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Supervising Mental Health Specialist (Night) for the Military Services within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. Participates as a member of the management and treatment teams. Ensures the provision of high-quality, comprehensive crisis response, triage, and support services. Responsible for staff supervision, training, and development. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides and manages crisis response, triage, and support services for incoming calls, chats, and service requests. Supervises assigned staff. Provides ongoing supervision, coaching, training, and performance feedback. Supports staff in managing high-risk or complex situations, ensuring adherence to risk assessment and safety protocols. Reviews call queues, chats, and service requests, and ensures the receipt of person-focused service delivery interventions and appropriate case dispositions. Maintains appropriate staffing coverage during assigned shifts. Tracks, analyzes, and improves key performance metrics to ensure quality outcomes.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant mental health, social sciences, or human services field plus one (1) year of full-time related experience (part-time and/or per diem experience may be substituted for the full-time equivalent) in a mental health field. Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Must be physically active and remain on one's feet for the majority of the day. Requires frequent bending, pulling, and lifting up to 70 lbs. Driving within the community for treatment-related activities. Moderate noise. Subject to unpredictable situations, patient crisis, medical, substance use related, and/or psychiatric. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens that require use of personal protective equipment.

Salary:
$62,188 to $88,646
