Job Description

Position Summary The NOC Shift Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership and operational oversight during the night shift. This role ensures safe, high-quality patient care, supports bedside staff, and serves as the primary clinical and administrative resource when day leadership is not on site. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership Oversee and coordinate patient care activities during the night shift Act as a clinical resource for nursing staff and ancillary personnel Ensure adherence to nursing standards, policies, and procedures Perform patient assessments and assist with complex or high-acuity cases Respond to clinical emergencies and coordinate rapid response as needed Staff Supervision & Support Assign patient workloads and adjust staffing based on acuity Provide guidance, mentoring, and real-time problem solving for staff Monitor staff performance and address issues promptly and professionally Facilitate effective shift handoffs and communication Operations & Administration Serve as the point of contact for physicians, supervisors, and on-call leadership Ensure accurate documentation and timely completion of required reports Monitor unit flow, admissions, discharges, and transfers Address incidents, patient complaints, and safety concerns during the shift Ensure compliance with regulatory and facility requirements Patient & Family Support Address patient and family concerns when leadership is unavailable Promote a calm, safe, and therapeutic environment overnight Qualifications Active RN license (state-specific) Minimum of 2-5 years of clinical nursing experience (acute care preferred) Prior charge nurse or leadership experience strongly preferred BLS required;
ACLS/PALS
as applicable to unit Skills & Competencies Strong clinical judgment and decision-making Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills Ability to lead independently with minimal supervision Time management and organizational skills Calm, confident leadership during high-stress situations Physical & Scheduling Requirements Ability to work overnight (NOC) shifts, weekends, and holidays as required Ability to meet physical demands of bedside nursing Learn more about us: www.puebloheights.com We are proud to be an
