Job Description

Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Schedule Options:
  • Four 10-hour shifts: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday OR
  • Five 8-hour shifts: Monday-Friday Join a mission-driven healthcare team providing essential care within a structured correctional healthcare environment.
We are seeking a compassionate, efficient, and clinically confident Nurse Practitioner (NP) who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care. This role is critical to daily healthcare operations, with a strong focus on completing physical examinations efficiently and maintaining timely chronic care follow-up visits to support continuity of care and patient wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations in a timely and efficient manner to support operational needs
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Manage chronic care clinics and ensure appropriate follow-up care for patients with ongoing medical needs
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests and lab results
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and facility protocols
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and thoroughly within the electronic medical record system
  • Collaborate closely with nursing staff, mental health professionals, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Respond appropriately to urgent and emergent medical situations
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver patient-centered care with professionalism, compassion, and strong clinical judgment
Qualifications:
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in WI
  • Minimum of 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
  • Experience in correctional healthcare, primary care, urgent care, or internal medicine preferred
  • Strong assessment, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
