Nursery Worker

PAID NURSERY WORKER

Approximately $15/hour

PRINCIPLE FUNCTION

To maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment for the security of the children and to meet their physical and spiritual needs. Staffing hours of nursery/personnel workers will be scheduled by the Nursery Committee. The Nursery Staff shall work in cooperation with the Nursery Coordinator. The Nursery staff shall be under the supervision of the Personnel Committee.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to service beginning. 2. Check for the child's needs when they arrive (special feeding, potty training, nap schedule, etc). 3. Check and change diapers or take each child to the bathroom 10 to 15 minutes before service is to end. 4. Place any dirty diapers in the bags provided and place in the trash under sink. 5. Have each child ready to go before parents/guardians arrive. They will pick the child up at the door. Parents/guardians should not enter the room to prevent another child from going out the door. 6. Pick up all toys, books, and puzzles and return them to their proper places. Place chairs under the table and wipe table off. 7. If the child cries or is extremely upset for an extended period of time, it may be necessary to call the parent/guardian back. 8. All toys and counters will need to be wiped down after service. 9. All toys, beds, etc., should be washed with disinfectant solution once each week. a. Sanitize all toys and clean the toy box. b. Clean chairs, walkers, chest, and window sills. c. Wash beds and mattresses (including underneath). 10. Bathrooms should be checked after each service. 11. Children and young youth ( 8th grade and under) should not be permitted to work in the Nursery. 12. The opportunity for additional hours will be communicated two weeks in advance for other church events. Additional hours will be assigned by the Nursery Committee. 13. This position will require approximately 10 hours per week.

Pay:

Up to $15.00 per hour
