full-time Do you believe that great fundraising starts with great relationships? Are you energized by connecting people to a mission they care about and turning those connections into meaningful philanthropic support? WSKG is looking for an Individual Giving Officer who can do just that. In this role, you'll lead strategies to grow and strengthen our community of leadership-level supporters-individuals and households who invest $1,200 or more annually in the future of public media. You'll manage a portfolio of more than 1,000 households, identifying opportunities to deepen relationships, increase engagement, inspire increased giving, and welcome new supporters into our Leadership Society. This is more than a fundraising position. It's a relationship-building role with a direct impact on WSKG's mission, our community, and our ability to deliver trusted journalism, compelling programming, and meaningful educational and cultural content. Working closely with the Chief Development Officer, you'll develop and execute strategies to acquire, retain, upgrade, recognize, and steward leadership-level donors. You'll combine thoughtful strategy, personal outreach, data, and compelling storytelling to help supporters understand the difference their generosity makes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
? Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies for acquiring, upgrading, recognizing, and retaining members, working with internal and external partners to promote giving societies. ? Personally thank and engage donors, implement Leadership Society recognition activities, and support donor participation in regional events. ? Conduct an annual feasibility analysis to identify past, current, and prospective donors at the $1,200+ level and establish annual giving goals by membership level. ? Develop annual goals for donor contacts, phone and personal solicitations, and engagement activities; document plans and results in the donor database. ? Regularly review pledges, solicitation schedules, campaign overlap, committee assignments, and data integrity, and prepare monthly solicitation status reports. ? At fiscal year-end, identify Leadership Society prospects and coordinate with portfolio managers on upcoming solicitation strategies and gift plans. ? Collaborate with development staff and volunteers to identify new donors, recommend prospects for major gifts, and determine which donors should enter or exit the Leadership Society pool. ? Conduct screenings to qualify mid-level and major-gift prospects, make personal solicitations of top annual-giving prospects, and document all activity in the database. ? Participate in organizational events and programs to cultivate prospective donors, strengthen relationships, and increase support for the organization. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): ? Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. ? Two or more years in development; knowledge of the principles and practices of development and fundraising with an understanding of individual giving programs; detailed understanding of annual fundraising programs, such as direct mail, pledge drives, and personal solicitation programs. Experience in public media strongly preferred. ? Proven success in soliciting and securing individual gifts. Demonstrated skills in effective relationship management with mid-level and high-level supporters. ? Knowledge of and compliance with the Fundraising Code of Ethics. ? Demonstrated ability to qualify potential donors for the organization. ? Ability to create strategic plans for each donor including reasonable financial goals based on the donor's giving and capacity, cultivation and stewardship steps. ? Ability to create a personal contact and solicitation plan that considers the individual donor's interest, motivations, giving patterns and areas of interest. ? Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to investigate, interpret, advise, compose, persuade, arbitrate, and autonomously determine conclusion. ? Must have ability to safeguard confidential and sensitive donor and organizational information. ? Ability to form relationships with board members and leadership volunteers to cultivate, solicit and steward new donors. ? Conversant with relevant technologies and how they can be used in support of communicating, engaging donors and volunteers in activities, and measuring results. ? Solid aptitude for working with databases, Word, Excel, and other e-resources is essential. ? Ability to create timely reports that reflect performance within and outside of donor software, Allegiance. ? Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to travel regularly across the region. ? Ability to manage process, deadlines, and budget while adhering to the policies and procedures of the organization and ability to get along with peers, subordinates, volunteers and management. ? Maintain a positive and constructive attitude while solving problems. ? Equipment Listing (Machines, Tools & Software): ? Must be able to operate Computer, , Google and Microsoft Suite. ? 40 hours per week, mainly Monday through Friday with some occasional evenings and/or weekends
Pay:
$63,000 to $68,000 annually
