Job Description
Summary The Oakville Middle School/High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our football program for the 2026/2027 season. The Head Football Coach will be responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the field, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, and promoting athletic excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the game, and a commitment to the personal growth of each player. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching plan that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring that all players receive appropriate instruction and feedback. Create game strategies and prepare the team for competitive play, including scouting opponents and analyzing game performance. Foster a positive team environment that encourages respect, discipline, and a strong work ethic among players. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player development. Oversee the recruitment and management of assistant coaches and support staff. Ensure compliance with all school and district policies, as well as state and national athletic regulations. Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, promoting a balance between athletics and academics. Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and in good condition for all team activities. Organize team events, including fundraisers, community service, and team-building activities. Requirements Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level, preferred. Strong knowledge of football strategies, techniques, and training methodologies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes equity within the team. Availability to work evenings and weekends during the football season. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel for away games and events.
