Occupational Health and Safety Specialist III Position Overview The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist III supports safety and occupational health efforts for the
CPE CBRND
program. This role is responsible for assisting with safety compliance, inspections, incident reporting, training, and overall ESOH support in accordance with Army and DoD regulations. Description of Specific Duties in a Typical Workday for This Position Provide support and guidance on safety-related matters for the
CPE CBRND
program. Assist with the development and maintenance of safety plans, policies, procedures, and related documentation. Participate in program meetings and reviews to provide input on safety and occupational health topics. Ensure activities are performed in accordance with Army Regulation 385-10, DoD Directive 4715.1E, and other applicable ESOH regulations. Review and support updates to Programmatic Environment Safety and Occupational Health Evaluations (PESHE). Review safety policies, incident reports, and related documentation to identify potential risks and concerns. Assist in identifying hazards and recommending corrective or mitigation actions. Conduct routine workplace safety and health inspections. Identify unsafe or unhealthy working conditions and recommend corrective actions. Prepare and submit accident and incident reports as required. Assist with the development and delivery of safety training for personnel. Support safety awareness initiatives and communication efforts across the program. Requirements (Years of Experience, Education, Certifications) 5-8 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety support within the Department of Defense environment, preferably supporting Army programs, or similar commercial industry experience. Experience supporting safety efforts throughout the acquisition lifecycle, including planning, testing, fielding, and sustainment activities. Familiarity with system safety management principles and processes. Familiarity with CBRN defense systems and associated safety considerations is preferred. Knowledge of Army Regulation 385-10, DoD Directive 4715.1E, PESHE requirements, and general ESOH regulations. Experience conducting safety inspections, incident reporting, and hazard identification activities. Strong communication and organizational skills. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field preferred. Relevant safety certifications are a plus. Active Secret Clearance required. This is a full-time position paying a base salary, full benefits, and has possible bonus potential based on merit and performance.
