Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students' growth and development in a diverse K-12 environment serving a primarily autistic population. This contract opportunity for an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is based onsite near Ellicott City, MD. The position is structured for full-time hours, but applicants interested in part-time roles will be considered, provided they are available on Thursdays and Fridays. The school operates on a year-round calendar, fostering ongoing relationships and consistent therapeutic support for students. Candidates will be invited onsite for interviews, giving them a chance to tour the facility, meet the dedicated team, and interact with the student population prior to accepting the offer—ensuring the perfect fit for both sides. The initial contract is for three months, with strong potential for permanent employment upon successful completion.
Key Qualifications:
Active and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist or COTA Background or passion for working in educational settings, ideally K-12 Experience supporting students with autism or related developmental differences strongly preferred Compassionate communicator with ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families Available onsite for interviews and to begin work as soon as possible
Primary Responsibilities:
Assess students' functional and educational needs and develop appropriate treatment plans Deliver individual and group therapy, primarily to students diagnosed with autism Collaborate with teachers, aides, and family members to ensure cohesive support strategies Monitor and document progress, adjust interventions as necessary, and participate in IEP meetings Maintain current records in compliance with school policies and state regulations This is a fulfilling role where you'll help unlock potential every day in a dedicated, supportive environment.
