Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school environment near Ellicott City, MD. This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, providing you the structure and focus to make a meaningful impact each day. As a key member of the educational team, you'll collaborate with colleagues and families to deliver personalized instruction, create life-changing learning opportunities, and advocate for students' diverse needs. The role centers on developing and implementing IEPs, monitoring student progress, and adapting instruction for a range of ages and abilities within your caseload.
Qualified candidates should bring:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with diverse learner populations and a variety of ages Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with staff and families A passion for fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment Major responsibilities include: Designing and delivering individualized instruction aligned to students' IEPs Monitoring academic and behavioral progress through data collection and assessment Working closely with support staff and related service providers Maintaining thorough, compliant documentation Creatively adapting materials and strategies to meet unique learner needs Ideal applicants demonstrate flexibility, innovation, and a genuine enthusiasm for making a difference in students' lives. Previous experience in similar settings or with specific disability categories can set you apart.
