As a key member of the Eau Resort & Spa team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort.
Role Summary:
The Oceana Supervisor will be responsible for working in the food and beverage department in a supervisory capacity, being cross utilized in other food and beverage outlets as necessary. This role will train and motivate staff to ensure the highest standard of service and presentation. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan and specialty beverages; scooping ice cream from the ice cream cart; cleaning and sanitizing work areas, utensils and equipment; cleaning service and seating areas; describing menu items and suggesting products to customers; etc. The ideal candidate will produce a quality product which exceeds the guest's expectations, hotel luxury standards, and is delivered in a friendly and professional manner, while exemplifying the philosophy and mission of Eau Resort & Spa. We have a full-time position available. This role is a flexible position (AM / PM), and all candidates must be able to work weekends, holidays, and nights.
Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or Manager. Food handling certificate. Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding. Ability to provide legible communication. Ability to compute mathematical calculations. Luxury hotel/restaurant experience. Ability to work independently and on a team. Ability to create rapport to build relationships with guests and employees.
Desirable:
Prior barista training. High school graduate, some college. Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service. Any previous culinary training. Certification in alcoholic awareness program. Certification in C.P.R. Computer training in Word, Excel.
Essential Skills:
Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant. Perform all job functions of barista, if needed. Inspect grooming and attire of staff and rectify any deficiencies. Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, etc. Inspect set up and breakdown to ensure standards are consistently met. Ensure food orders arrive in a timely manner, monitoring ticket times. Address any guest opportunities; communicate them to kitchen and Manager. Coach staff if any deficiencies are observed. Must be aware of guests in area (opportunity guests, VIP's). Constantly monitor the outlet for cleanliness and safety. Communicate to kitchen any large parties/changes in business levels, call for assistance if necessary. Inspect storage areas for organization, use of FIFO, and cleanliness. Monitor restaurant for seating availability, service, safety, and wellbeing of guests. Complete HotSOS orders for maintenance repairs. Communicate with Kitchen any opportunities or changes in business levels. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; and serve as a role model and first point of contact. Address any guest opportunities that may arise. Count bank at end of shift; complete cashier reports and drop receipts; secure bank. Return outlet keys at end of shift to Security. Successful completion of training/certification process. Accurate cash handling and operation of POS system . Stocking out pastries, cookies, etc. for sale. Restocking products as necessary. Provides high-level of coffee service during busy hours, includes making a variety of espresso and non-espresso drinks. Up keeping our high cleanliness standards, maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Must be able to work 8-hour shifts. Ensure accurate signage with allergens. Stay current with equipment maintenance and alert MOD if equipment service is needed. Perform all functions in Savor, if needed.
Secondary Functions:
Assist with weekly/monthly inventories. Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule. Update Micros system menus. Legibly document maintenance needs on work orders and submit them to Manager.
