Job Description

Company Overview The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four heavy civil construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, and site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States. We do a wide variety of heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, and DOT work, power plants, dams and reservoirs, underground utilities, and more. We are Heavy Civil Construction and Sitework experts, but we specialize in providing peace of mind. Job Summary:
The Office/Field Engineer position is responsible for aiding in the organization and function of an AIS Infrastructure construction project. This position requires the ability to coordinate scheduling with sections from the project teams, adhere to safety standards, and collaborate with a team. Must be willing to do both in-office work (documentation and controls) and field work (layout and production) as needed. Assist Project Manager, Project Engineers, Quality Control Managers, and others with all tasks related to management of the project to keep it on schedule, within budget constraints, and meeting or exceeding quality standards according to specifications. Topographic data collection. Assist with performing line and grade work for project layout and control as required. Survey data organization and processing. Internal production monitoring, analyzing, and reporting. Assist with project submittals, transmittals and purchase order preparation. Care, maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned equipment. Field support as needed such as retrieving parts/supplies. Participates in environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations. Assist in implementation of site safety program as required. Assist in maintenance of contract documents and electronic web-based documents for field operations. Assist in preparation of Daily Construction Reports. Review contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure work performed is within contract tolerances. Assist in preparation of project as-builts. Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements and Education:
Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team. Demonstrate initiative and desire to learn. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Proficient with computer applications, data entry, CAD, and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity and experience with HCSS, Procore, and other construction management software is preferred. Willingness and ability to travel as needed. Basic understanding of scheduling programs desired.
Preferred Requirements and Education:
At least two years of college education from an accredited degree program in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Bachelor's degree preferred.
