At the Ellen Halbert Unit in Burnet, Texas, our foundation is based upon the philosophies of caring about others, giving back, and making a social impact. We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping an at-risk population receive the treatment necessary for success on their road back to a healthy, productive life.
Essential Duties:
Performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions required by the contract including human resources and programs. Maintains confidentiality with sensitive facility information. Maintains up-to-date personnel files. Ensures all new hire information and other personnel changes are entered into the computer and proper notification forwarded to payroll and ensures adequate and up-to-date personnel records are maintained. Processes paperwork for terminating employees, including retirement report and forms when applicable. Informs new employees of available insurance benefits, procedures, etc. Coordinates with insurance company regarding claims, resolution of problem cases, etc. Provides follow-up correspondence to applicants and agencies regarding employment status. Completes and maintains accurate weekly monthly reports. Types reports, maintains records and files. Maintains calendar of events, schedules appointments and takes minutes of meetings.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED) required. Two (2) years of human resources, administrative or related experience required. Computer proficiency strongly preferred. Must be knowledgeable in business correspondence, including writing, spelling, grammar, and appropriate formats, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. A valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management. Must successfully complete TDCJ approved annual in-service training requirements and pass annual background check. Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
