In this role, you will be responsible for crafting authentic sushi dishes and managing the overall quality of our Japanese cuisine offerings. Your energetic approach to food preparation and dedication to excellence will ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates exceptional knife skills, and has a strong background in fine dining and food safety standards. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents while contributing to a dynamic restaurant atmosphere. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence Manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating of sushi and other Japanese cuisine items Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene throughout all stages of food handling and service Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning, ingredient selection, and innovative dish development Ensure all food products meet quality standards by monitoring freshness, portion control, and proper storage techniques Assist in catering events or special functions by preparing sushi platters and coordinating meal service Uphold restaurant policies on food handling, safety procedures, and customer service excellence at all times Qualifications Proven experience in a culinary setting with a focus on sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine; fine dining experience is highly desirable Strong knife skills with the ability to handle various cutting techniques efficiently and safely Background in the food industry with comprehensive knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and kitchen operations Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and food service within a restaurant environment Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide practices is a plus Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards Excellent communication skills combined with a positive attitude toward teamwork and guest satisfaction Join us as we deliver memorable culinary experiences through authentic sushi craftsmanship!
