On-Call Late-Afternoon Pool Technician

Overview Join our team as our On-Call Late-Afternoon Pool Technician, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and optimal operation of swimming pools during the late afternoon hours. This is the perfect opportunity for pool guys who are happy with their current company, but are simply looking for more nearby pools to service at the end of their day and increase their earnings without having to leave their current job. We have hired sales reps who are going door-to-door knocking to sell regular pool maintenance contracts. We are in need of a first impression worthy technician: well groomed, knowledgeable, detail oriented, first service kind of technician who may be either recovering green pools, dirty pools, or even well maintained pools who wanted to switch over for a better price. You may also be asked to occasionally reservice a pool by our other regular technicians, if their job was not satisfactory. Eventually (if you would like) this could become a regular route of pools for yourself. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that pools are always ready for enjoyment. As an on-call role, you will respond promptly to service needs, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform essential maintenance tasks to uphold our high standards of pool quality and safety. Duties Conduct thorough pool inspections to assess water quality, clarity, and chemical balance during late-afternoon shifts Perform routine pool cleaning tasks including skimming debris, vacuuming pools, and brushing surfaces to maintain pristine conditions Utilize hand tools and power tools to repair or replace pool equipment such as pumps, filters, valves, and chlorination systems Maintain and calibrate pool chemical feeders and testing equipment to ensure proper chemical levels are consistently achieved Respond on-call to emergency service requests or equipment failures that occur during late-afternoon hours Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately in logs for recordkeeping and compliance purposes Assist with preventive maintenance schedules to prolong the lifespan of pool systems and equipment Experience Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar pool maintenance role with hands-on experience in equipment repair and troubleshooting Mechanical knowledge of pool systems including pumps, filters, chlorination systems, and plumbing components Familiarity with pool cleaning procedures and chemical balancing techniques Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively Prior experience working with service or maintenance teams in a fast-paced environment is preferred Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills to quickly identify issues and implement solutions Ability to work independently during on-call shifts while maintaining a high level of professionalism Join us in delivering exceptional pool experiences by ensuring every detail is perfect!
