Foundations of Success andUNIV 1101
Academic & Career Success. This first-year course, which is a part of UTRGV's Student Success and Retention Initiatives, focuses on research-based findings on the application of learning and motivation. The position is a one-year appointment beginning in the Fall of 2025. The selected applicant(s) will teach multiple sections ofUNIV 1301
Foundations of Success and/orUNIV 1101
Academic & Career Success using research-based teaching methodologies. The applicant(s) will also serve on program and university committees, maintain appropriate office hours, and fulfill other responsibilities required of a lecturer at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. UTRGV faculty will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and to advancing the university, college, and program missions and are committed to UTRGV's guiding principles (http://www.utrgv.edu/en-us/about-utrgv/transition-plan/guiding-principles), which include promoting access to postsecondary education to a diverse student body and to become one of the largest and most successful Hispanic-serving emerging research institutions in the U.S.A. Minimum Qualifications Applicant must have a Master's degree, demonstrated knowledge of best practices in teaching, and one year of experience working with students is required. Discipline Specific Required Qualifications Preferred Qualification Salary One-Year Lecturers are paid a 9-month academic rate commensurate with experience and/or qualifications in the discipline.
