52 weeks per year, travel as necessary The Operations & Finance Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, financial, and human resources support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the Housing & Redevelopment Authority. This position performs key accounting functions including accounts payable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and coordination with the agency's fee accountant for month-end, year-end, and audit activities. The role also supports human resource functions such as benefits administration, leave tracking, and reporting, while assisting leadership with contract management and organizational compliance requirements. In addition, the Coordinator prepares required reports, monitors program funding and loan activity, maintains agency records and website content, and provides administrative support to the Executive Director. This position requires strong organizational, financial, and analytical skills, along with the ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality. Major Areas of Responsibility Processes accounting transactions, including accounts payable, payroll entry, and rent processing. Performs accounting functions in coordination with the agency's fee accountant, including month-end and year-end close processes. Performs human resources functions, including benefits administration, leave tracking, and related reporting. Assists management staff with contract administration and file maintenance. Provides professional and technical support to the Executive Director. Provides administrative support for HRA Board of Commissioner meetings. Prepares and submits various reports including utility consumption reports, worker's compensation audits, LLC renewals, and rental permits. Assists with the annual audit process in coordination with the agency's fee accountant and Executive Director. Manages website content and coordinates with the website contractor to maintain the agency website. Performs monthly bank reconciliations. Processes bad debt submissions through the State Revenue Recapture Program. Monitors Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) loan activity. Tracks rental assistance funding to ensure alignment and compliance with fee accountant schedules. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred. Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or 2-5 years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Experience Experience in an office environment with responsibilities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and support of human resources functions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong financial acumen. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals and groups. Ability to work independently, assess situations, and exercise sound judgement with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Ability to collect, analyze, and verify data and perform mathematical calculations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and the ability to learn industry-specific software. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all staff. Demonstrates high energy, ethical behavior, integrity, reliability, and respect for confidentiality.
