The Sanitation Operator is a member of the Operations Team reporting directly to the Sanitation Supervisor. The Sanitation Operator is accountable and responsible for plant sanitation and cleanliness to maintain quality control and protection of product, ensuring departmental safety, environmental controls and development and training of sanitation employees.Key Responsibilities:
Ensure a clean and safe work environment is maintained, including but not limited to: proper storage of tools, hoses, cleanliness of work area, and proper wear of all personal protective equipment, immediately contain and report any spills or unsafe conditions Ensure all sanitation tasks are completed safely as assigned to the shift Review and fill out master sanitation sheets (MSS) after completing assigned tasks Communicate with management at any hour during emergency situations Interacting regularly with peers & management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork focused environment Perform daily safety equipment checks as required Complete all required safety trainings Ensure sanitation operations are performed in accordance with approved procedures and company policy Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures and forms Communicate with other shifts and supervisors/leaders Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to the Superintendent of operations and the Plant Manager Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for all employees and visitors Other duties as directed or requiredPreferred Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent required Ability to follow policies & procedures Demonstrated ability to work in a team & safety environmentSkills and Competencies:
Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders Able to work in all weather conditions Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as needed Must be self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervisedFood Safety Policy:
