Job Description
Job Overview Previous experience in a clinical setting or as an Ophthalmic Technician is preferred. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist ophthalmologists in providing high-quality eye care to patients. Your responsibilities will include performing diagnostic tests, preparing patients for examinations, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, along with strong retail sales skills to assist in patient education and product recommendations. Responsibilities Conduct preliminary eye exams and tests, including visual acuity assessments and tonometry. Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic. Educate patients on proper eye care practices and available products. Manage inventory of ophthalmic supplies and equipment within the clinic. Provide exceptional customer service to enhance patient experience. Utilize retail math skills to assist with sales of eyewear and related products. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment. Qualifications Previous experience in a clinical setting or as an Ophthalmic Technician is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential. Familiarity with retail sales techniques and retail math is advantageous. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
