Job Description
Responsible for day-to-day execution of sanitation activities in a manufacturing environment, including the cleaning of both equipment and the facility. Ensures all Sanitary and Food Safety requirements are satisfied and coordinates all required transitions between the shut down, sanitation, and start up of production lines. In addition, this role works cross functionally with QA and Production to assure cleaning, sanitation, and set-up programs and practices are appropriately applied throughout the facility.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Directs / executes plant cleaning and sanitation programs and practices. Develops and administers necessary programs and systems that ensure operability and cleanliness while driving a culture of peer to peer accountability for Safety, Quality, Costs, and Customer Satisfaction. Serves as the principal liaison with the current WDI Sanitation / Chemical and Pest Management contractor. Oversees maintenance of sanitation, ancillary, and production support equipment. Develops and administers necessary programs and systems that ensure operability and cleanliness. Develops and institutionalizes Master Sanitation Schedules, SOPs and Standard work for Sanitation and Set Up processes. In conjunction with Document Control, assures that only the most current and approved versions of these control documents are available to those responsible for cleaning, sanitation and set-up duties. Oversees relevant chemical, sanitation and pest management training for the plant. Ensures sanitary compliance with all HACCP, PMO, and SQF guidelines and policies. In conjunction with Hygienist, investigates product and environmental out-of-limits situations, documents these investigations and implements sustainable corrective actions as required using established change management practices. Executes labor planning and scheduling that supports business needs, which includes operational, financial and employee interests. Supports and maintains a continuous improvement (CI) culture across assigned work teams; serves as a leader of change across the function. Actively seeks opportunities to optimize performance and identifies opportunities for improved efficiencies. Maintains an engaged workforce by effectively coaching training and motivating team members. Utilizes various techniques and tools that focus on building capability, promoting teamwork and emphasizing communication.EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in microbiology, Food Science, or Engineering preferred. May be substituted for with demonstrated experience with food or nutritional products sanitation, cleaning or manufacturing, and/or quality programs required).EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years demonstrated experience in a in a medical product, food or nutritional product manufacturing setting Previous experience in anFDA / USDA
regulated industry. Previous experience in a leadership capacity The base pay range for this position is $94,500 to $132,300 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Knowledge:
Demonstrated knowledge of Cleaning, Sanitation and Chemical Control practices and an understanding of dairy / food manufacturing equipment design. Familiarity with microbial monitoring and control programs associated with Food/Dairy plants. Understanding of current Pest Management techniques in anFDA / USDA
regulated industry.Skills:
Familiarity with manufacturing and chemical sanitation principles, specifically food or nutritional products. General ability to understand facility specific processes such as weighing, measuring, mixing, cleaning, sterilization, documentation, process control automation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good attention to detail and ability to prepare and give written and oral instructions. Multi project/multi-tasking capability. Ability to read / write English. Skilled in the proficient use in Microsoft Office software.Abilities:

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside of the Company. Responsible for department budget, as well as Key Performance Indicators related to Coliform Compliance, Environmental Compliance, First Hour TE, and Departmental OIR. In addition, the execution of job tasks is essential for assuring food safety and food quality.
