Job Description

Our Erie branch serves customers across the southern New York and northwestern Pennsylvania region, including Dunkirk and Erie. This is a versatile, dual-function role. You'll split your time roughly equally between installing new systems and servicing existing ones, making it ideal for a well-rounded technician who thrives in both environments.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Security & Fire Alarm Installation/Service Technician, you will install and configure new systems as well as troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing security and life-safety systems across residential and commercial environments in the Dunkirk/Erie corridor. Install, program, and configure electronic security systems including intrusion, fire alarm, video surveillance (CCTV) and live video monitoring systems, access control, and intercom systems Run and terminate low-voltage wiring; install devices including keypads, cameras, sensors, panels, and access control hardware Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system issues; reprogram and replace faulty components Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards Deliver exceptional customer care on every visit; guide customers through system operation in a clear, professional, and approachable way Accurately document all work activity, including photos, and upload records to customer accounts through company systems Ensure all work meets safety standards and quality expectations across a variety of job sites, including commercial and public projects that may be subject to prevailing wage requirements
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in low-voltage security or fire alarm systems, with exposure to both installation and service preferred (trainees with strong aptitude considered) Valid driver's license with a good driving record Experience with security, fire alarm, video surveillance (CCTV) and live video monitoring systems, access control, or intercom systems Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and mechanical aptitude Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage both installations and service calls OSHA 10 and/or NICET certification a plus
Work Requirements:
Ability to drive a company vehicle Comfortable working on ladders, in attics, crawlspaces, and various commercial and residential environments Ability to lift equipment and tools as needed Adherence to all safety protocols Willingness to travel daily within the Dunkirk/Erie region; company vehicle provided for business use
