Optician/Sales Associate

Position Overview We are a private practice seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, including fitting and dispensing glasses and contact lenses. Working with luxury frames and ophthalmic lenses. Customer service and people skills are a must! Duties Assist patients in frame and lens selection based on their vision needs, prescription, frame fit, personal style and lifestyle. Conduct fitting, adjustment, optical measurements, and repair services on eyewear. Educate patients on eyewear recommendations, care and usage. Bill vision insurance, apply copays to eyewear purchases and exam copays based on specified insurance. Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain the entire store's cleanliness and organization , contributing to the store's overall visual presentation. Inspection of finished eyewear, ensuring quality standards and order accuracy meeting patient expectations. Including troubleshooting and addressing patient concerns. Provide exceptional customer service in a retail setting, assist as needed with patient communications and scheduling. Skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with diverse patient populations. Familiarity with OfficeMate and EHR systems for patient management is a plus. Ability to work effectively with others as well as an individual contributor in both clinic and retail environments. Ensures accuracy in all transactions/interactions with patients. Strong basic math skills, familiarity with computers and calculators. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data protection. Optical dispensing experience with high end optical retail is a plus, but not necessary. A love for fashion and a level of excellence is a must!
